Frequently Asked Questions
What's the best way to make an appointment?
The easiest way to make an appointment is to simply click on the BOOK ONLINE link here or above and schedule an appointment for a convenient time. Also you may access us from our CONTACT page. We are a small shop and can not always accommodate on-demand massage, but we always try to make special arrangements and even work outside of regularly posted hours whenever possible.
Can I just drop by?
That's really not a good idea, since chances are good that we may be with clients, and we don't have an on-site receptionist. Feel free to leave a message at 334-203-4142 with a good time to call or text you back. You can also email crimsonliving@gmail.com. We can either talk on the phone, or arrange a good time for you to come by and see the studio.
Do I need to come early?
For your very first appointment it's a good idea to come ten minutes early. This gives us both a chance to ask questions and fill out necessary paperwork.
Should I do anything first?
If there's any one thing you can do both before and after a massage that's good for your body, it's hydrate. Drinking water is one of the most necessary things in life and something that most of us don't do often enough. Making sure you're well hydrated will help ensure that you get the greatest possible benefit from your massage experience.
Do I have to be completely naked?
No, absolutely not. You're only required to disrobe to your own level of comfort. The draping laws in Alabama are quite strict and at no point will any part of your body be exposed unless it specifically is being worked on. You will be modestly draped at all times.
Can I talk during a massage?
Yes, by all means. You can talk or be still, whatever you wish. Your massage experience is unique to you, and is centered around your needs and tastes. Many people find that in stillness they drift off into a meditative twilight. Others find that a friendly chat helps them relax. Whatever makes you most comfortable is more than fine.
What will Massage do for me?
Massage makes you feel better, move better, work better and play better. It can be relaxing or invigorating. Massage is curative, restorative and holistic. It reduces pain, helps alleviate headaches, improves blood flow, stimulates the production of 'feel-good' chemicals in the brain and, according to Dr. Tiffany Field, PhD, of the University of Miami, '“Just adding massage makes such an incredible difference. In everything we’ve done, massage is significantly effective. There’s not a single condition we’ve looked at—including cancer—that hasn’t responded positively to massage.”
